Can we talk about this??

Ok let's talk about how GREAT this outfit is from anthro. One of the many things I would kill for from there. Looks like this is not really gonna happen for a good long while/ever considering the adorable bag alone is $533. Yeah...I know.

Cadavers and Homecoming

Ok so maybe the two title words don't really fit! But I guess my two post topics do :). That's right, I work on cadavers... four of them! And-I have a public announcement/confession to make...when I look at people (i.e. friends, family, professors, grocery workers etc) I either A) see right through them and can only see muscles moving and bone/joints or B) I can only picture them dead. That's horrible I know! But funny. I guess you can decide you are studying a good amount when words just randomly go through your head that you have memorized, have dreams about it cadavers, and constantly just want to go up and start naming people's parts. Ha! Here is a brain...it's a real one, and I won't show you the whole body because that could be considered morbid.

Also homecoming! I am so excited and student government has rocked it this year. This is what the sidewalk looked like today when I walked out of class! Free cotton and candy and red punch. Wahoo!

And here is the beautiful sign I sewed. I am so proud of that sign! Ok so I know it is only two pieces of fabric sewed together, but it was a lot of fabric! And I messed up a lot. Oops. Ok have a good one all you readers. :)

I think I am busy..?

Pretty sure I am deciding I am re-heally busy. Right now I am working about 25-30 hours a week (I'm a nanny), 17 credits, ambassadors, studying and maybe sometimes even having a social life! But, I will admit for some reason I thrive on it. I always do way better when I am busy for some weird reason. But LOVING school this semester. I think it is that time in my life when I just want to soak up all the knowledge I can. I think after your first year of college school becomes more that way instead of just thinking about generals. It's really fun to get really into your classes and really ENJOY learning. Who would have thought I could like school?? Funny how that works.

Rodeo!

This weekend had a date...kind of rough. It was a blind date, and won't go into details but HELLO?! Sometimes I wonder....anyway, saturday was way fun! Me and the roomies went to the Dixie Sun Bowl and it was so fun! Here are some pictures:

Everyone should go to the rodeo at least ONCE in their life. Especially in St. George! So perfect. More later!

Girls night out!!

Last weekend was sooo fun. Me and about 12 of the girls down here got together for a girls night out on the town. It was so much fun. Way too much laughing went down, good stories, good food at Olive Garden, and a dance party to boot. Funny story....so college kind of kills your wallet, and I am prettyout of money right now so it was so funny to see everyone get this awesome pasta, and I got the cheapest soup there was. Yup, and that's what college books and fees will do to ya!

Ugh times 10.

Dear knee,

I really like you when you are functioning right, and I really, REALLY don't like you when you are malfunctioning like you are. I would really like it if you would get better so I don't have to book it across campus in the heat on crutches. Lucky for you and me, the wonderful people at the Disability Resource Center are going to drive me from class to class. I would sincerely appreciate your cooperation in keeping up with my busy life and helping not hindering me. Thank you for your help...when you are helping, which is not right now.

Love, Chels

School here we come....

<

Well, here we are! A whole new school year. It's my first day and I can hardly believe that the summer is OVER. I am ready for school to start though I think. I am ready to have some more structure and have things to always be keeping me busy. I enjoy being busy oddly enough! We'll see if I feel the same way in a month or two....but for now I am glad to be starting again. Coming down has been so much fun seeing everyone again, and I remember why I love going to school here! Dixie is like a big family. It's so much fun. We had a carnival last night which I will post pictures when I get them back, but it was amazing. The student government pulled off an awesome night with a great turn-out and it was so fun to see everyone again. But I guess a re-cap of my goings-on this summer consisted of .... not a whole lot!

I had knee surgery....actually let me rephrase that....I had knee surgery TWICE hahaha. Once on both knees. It was awesome.

My aunt and uncle flew me out to Arkansas to visit my adorable cousins! So fun.

I got to be a counselor for a youth camp at BYU called EFY....best thing ever!

Went and saw the MAN, Jack Johnson with my little, but not so little brother! :) So good!

Seeing old friends in Orem that will always be my closest.

Hung out with my family A LOT in the good ol' wheel chair

Met Jordin Sparks

And now here I am back in St. George with my old roomies in my NEW apartment that i love at Red Sands. It's gonna be a good year I can feel it. More later!

Summer is here!!

Yes!! I am so excited about life because I am DONE with school for the summer! I am so excited to just have nothing but my job, which I love! So yeah, life feels just about SO wonderful. We made it to the end...bring on the heat though! It is going to be super hot down here. Well, anyway, hope everyone is doing so great too and thanks for a great year! See ya next semester! :D

finals = grumpy faces.

K, well, on list of things that I do not like in life I would have to put finals right up on there on the one of the top of my list. Can't say I wake up every morning excited to sit for 2 hours and take a bazillion (or so it seems) question test and regurgitate every single peice of information we learned in this semester....whew. I promise I am not bitter....finals are a necessity for a class, I am just definitely ready to be DONE. But I can say it....just one more week! ONE MORE! And then I am done. Wahoo! And summer can begin. Well, I wish I had something more exciting to talk about besides a test, but there just isn't! K well, more later!

Red Sands!

Oh hey everyone!

This weekend was awesome with everyone coming to Dixie that was trying out to be an ambassador! We had a great time up at Pinevalley at the cabin. If you do ever get a chance to go up there, it is way fun...but a word to the wise....GET A BED. There are tons of rooms it seems like...until everyone gets up there and all the beds get taken...then you are stuck on the hard hallow floor, freezing with your tiny blanket you brought, and trying to get as much sleep that you know is not going to be much. So fun, but expect to be tired the next few days, and expect a neck and back ache if you don't get a bed! For all who have been there, this is pretty funny because you know EXACTLY what I am talking about. It is going to be tough decisions for the advisors next year because we had so man people who would be such great recruitors. Can't wait to see who get's on! Well, not much going on in my life right now....actually there is TONS going on but it is probably not too interesting. Just studying, going to class, sleeping lots, working TONS, and trying to keep up! Things are definitely busy. But tonight is the Colbie Callait concert at Tuacahn and I am SOOO excited! I'll let you know how it goes. To all who read...more later!!

A million miles a minute

I have a confession to make....I am all tuckered out. I have just going nonstop for too long. With finals coming up, trying to hold down a job, ambassadors, trying to remain at least a tiny bit social, and all the other stuff I don't wanna bore you with....yeah, I'm just tired. Hahaha Good thing there is a little thing called "The Office" to keep me sane. I absolutely positively LOVE that show and could put me in a good mood no matter how stressed I am.

My point: Give yourself at least one half hour a day of sanity by indulging in the office.

Take a look:

The Deliciousness of Spring Break!

Well spring break was so great!! I had so much fun! I was able to go to Vegas to the Rascal Flatts concert....yes....we were very close!!

We were able to go all over Vegas to the usual spots like the Coke factory, M & M factory, all over to the big hotels like Mandalay Bay....MGM...etc. It was seriously so fun and way close to St. George!

Then! That thursday I was able to go to Newport, Hunington, and Laguna Beach with my friends across the hall from me. It seriously was SO fun!! We just did nothing but sit on the beach for four days. And, being the poor college students that we are, we tried to go VERY cheap. Let me just say we got REALLY sick of PB&J, fruit snacks, and granola bars. But we did keep it cheap that is for surely! I did buy a wonderful pair of shoes though :).

Now I am back in school...and well it is hard to get back I will be completely honest. The bed grabbers sure got me on monday when I was trying to get back. Well, I hope everyone else enjoyed or will enjoy their spring break!! More later.

Mama Mia!

Oh perfect. My mom has been down here visiting and it has been so much fun. DIxie did a cool thing called the "mother's weekend". Here she is in our fam. picture. I just love her guts.

I'm not sure what everyone thinks of me now because everyone knew I was pretty crazy before, and then they met my mom and realized I have a double! My mom has to be one of the funniest, upbeat, crazy woman you will ever meet. She is one of those type of people that is positive about absolutely everything (which is great most of the time until you just feel like being bugged for like 2 min)....you know the type where if the house was burning down and it was cold outside she would some ridiculously optomistic comment like, "Well! At least we had firewood! It was freezing out here!" Ok....maybe not that happy ALL the time, but pretty much. It was great to have her down here in the sunshine too...it feels fabulous....a great 75 degrees today. We went to Nielsen's Frozen Custard (which I would definitely recommend a cookie-dough almond concrete...they're to die for), to the movies, Famous Daves (which I also highly recommend their amazing ribs), and to the Bear Paw (which I would definitely recommend their crepes). Yeah....so I finally had a good meal, well good MEALS. It was fabulous, and I would highly suggest taking EVERY opportunity you can to get a free meal. My mom even did my laundry! It was way fun to have her down here! More later.

Mmmmm....Sunshine

Well hello bloggers! I just got back from being up north for the weekend and let me tell ya....it was nice to come from freezing cold with a bazillion feet of snow, to 0 feet of snow and a fab 65 degree weather. :D that was excellent. Things are going pretty good! I just got a job to be a nanny and I love it! I just have an insanely busy day ahead of me because wed. is insane for me. I never stop. Ok well! Not much else to write! I will post some more pictures on the site today! Wish me luck on my bio. quiz today:S

Professors and Dixie rocks...plain and simple.

Ok so to make my point perfectly clear about how awesome our professors are, I just want to show a copy and paste of an actual email from my professor while I have been sick:

Dear Chelsea,

I'm sorry that you are having health problems. I hope that
everything can be resolved and that you'll feel better.

It is fine if you get the lecture notes from a friend and read the
material in the text. Do you have the second study guide? If not,
have a friend get one from me to give to you. It will help you know
what to focus on and make the most of your study time. You can also
e-mail me with any questions you have.

As far as quiz dates, we won't have a quiz until I get to around #40
on the current study guide. I doubt that we'll hit that point until
the end of next week.

Let me know what I can do to help you. I care.

Sincerely,

Karen Bauer

K so....basically where else do you get this kind of help from your professor? Like who is just this nice?? The best news....I got one like this from every single one of my professors. Perfect!! More later.

"Sick and tired of being sick and tired!"

Ha! Well, the title from my post is quoted from one of my favoritest favorite people in this world....yes Oprah. I just love her. I am laying here sick...again, and well yeah! I am kinda way sick of being sick. I have these weird seizures and can't stop having them the last few days. So here I lay with not really any exciting news too much. Classes are going pretty good and I did well on one of my tests. Hallelujuah!! I am not gonna lie...I am not the best test taker in the world. Also I had a pretty good weekend. A bunch of my friends from high school came down and we had a blast. Oh yes...and Mr. Dixie was this weekend which I highly recommend to anyone! Way super funny...and congrats to Caden who is this year's Mr. Dixie. What girl wouldn't want to go and check out eligible....or maybe possibly not so eligible men in a pagent?? I mean seriously! Also on friday I went to "Dan In Real Life" at the dollar theater....which again I HIGHLY recommend, and then to another bon fire up Snow Canyon. It was way fun. Good thing I didn't have any seizes over the weekend! I would have missed out. Ok, I am done. I should study and take a nap. More later!

P.S. Here are some pics of me and my roommates and just some other random stuff.

(Insert Word Here0

Dear Blogger Readers,

It has been a LONG week I am not gonna lie. Pretty good, just super long. I feel like I have so much in my brain it is going to EXPLODE. Classes are good, but I am just so busy. Note to anyone coming up on the college...AKA...high school seniors: take at least one fun class. I know that today we feel like we have to cram as many credits in and just get your degree finished.....enjoy the college experience. Take some class that you can just enjoy and not have to stress about...like bread making or something! Ha! I am taking a scuba diving class this semester, that hasn't quite started, but am so excited for! Just remember while all this deciding of where, when, and how you are going to go about college....just breathe...and enjoy! It can be stressful, but this can be the time of your life! More later...

Post Rebel Retreat

So we had a great time at the rebel retreat! Tons of student there from all over the place. We ended up going to this little improv group,"Mission Improvable", and then we had Durango Grill for dinner, and then it was off to a huge bon fire at the Arizona Strip. SO FUN!! There were a TON of people there, and even though it was chilly, we had a giant bonfire to heat it up. I still can't get over how many people were there at the fire. We did get slightly lost trying to find exactly which bonfire, luckily the girls that were with me were patient while we looked for it! But yeah! Hope everyone else had fun!! Here are some pics from it. More later!

Rebel Retreat..before.

So we are all so psyched because tonight Ambassadors are putting on the rebel retreat!! It is going to be so fun, and it is for all high school students to baisically come and live the life of a college student and get some more information on what Dixie has to offer. We are planning a lot of fun things....like i.e. going to a bon fire...we hope it doesn't rain, also to Entertainment Dixie which tonight is going to be an improv group which should be fab, and then also just playing games and having a sleep over. It is going to be so fun!! Hopefully one of you reading this will be coming down. Next blog I will have to post some pictures and tell you how it went!! Love to all! Have an A-mazing weekend.

Ahhh...the narrows...and sugarloaf!

Hey Everyone!

This week was so fun because a group of us went hiking up to the mini narrows and to the sugarloaf. I had never been up there even being down here so long in St. George, so I figured it was time to get up there and see it. One of my friends Patrick who has lived here his whole life showed me around up there...so here are some of the pictures from it. I am not gonna lie...I was slightly claustrophobic though and wasn't sure I was gonna make it outta there...but I did and am here to be alive and tell about it!! More later.

Back again!!

Well bloggers...it has been a long time since I have been able to post on here.. Unfortunately I got really sick last semester and to do a complete withdraw. I am happy to be back though now!! Dixie was seriously so awesome to help me out in so many areas and I am glad to be a full time student back in St. George. A lot of my classes I am having to take over, but I am excited for my new scuba diving class I am taking, and also I am taking a few really awesome choirs. One in the Rebel Chorus, and one is The Vocal Jazz Project. Peter Briggs is an AMAZING choir director who really knows his stuff. If you wanna get the fundamentals of singing down....he is your guy. He has done a lot of awesome stuff, including directing "The Messiah" which I went and saw here at Dixie and it was breath taking! More later!
